There was the base of the 2nd railway Regiment here.
Here is a college now, and only a gate remains.
A part of Shin-Keisei line that runs in the vicinity is a diversion of the railway track for the training of this railway regiment.
A Japanese army that relates to Thailand-Burma railroad that appears in movie "The Bridge on The River Kwai" was divided from here .

ここは戦前、鉄道第二連隊の基地があったところです。
今は大学の敷地になっておりが、当時の正門がそのまま残っています。
近くを走る新京成線の一部はこの鉄道連隊の訓練用線路を転用したものだそうです。
また映画「戦場にかける橋」で登場する泰緬鉄道に関係した日本軍は、ここから分隊した第八連隊が従事したといわれています。
