Geocache Description:


The Temperance Fountain, in Worcester Road, Malvern Link, has recently been refurbished and it has had its water supply re-connected. The fountain was originally built in 1900 and it takes its supply from natural spring water falling on the adjacent Malvern Hills. The springs release an average of about 60 litres a minute and the flow has never been known to cease. Malvern Link Common is part of an AONB maintained by the Malvern Hills Conservators. To determine the co-ordinates for the final cache you will need to refer to the date and inscription on the fountain.

Cache co-ordinates are N52 07. A B C W002 19. D E F

A = Second number of date of erection of fountain minus 5

B = Number of letters in the 10th word of inscription

C = First number of date of erection

D = Fourth letter of last word as a number

E = Sum of the number of letters in the 2nd and 7th words

F = Numbers of the date added together minus 1
