Geocache Description:

A flat walk to woods in west Newport. The route can also easily be done on bikes.

This cache is in the Rogerstone area of Newport. There is a small car park within easy walking distance of the cache location, which is a quiet area known mostly only to local people. The wood is carpeted with bluebells each spring. There are a number of caches nearby which can be reached from the same car park.

The cache has been placed with the kind permission of the Forestry Commission. Note that GPS reception is rather variable near the cache location.

The cache is approximately 2km from the canal centre at Fourteen Locks, where there is a visitor centre with café and toilets. Note that the visitor centre car park is locked for the night at 16:45, and re-opens at 06:00 in the morning. The visitor centre and coffee shop are open between 09:00 and 16:30.
