My Mom came down to Victoria to visit for two
days just to see some of my favorite geocaching locations. I
took her to East Sooke Park and we did a 6 mile hike, including a
good bit of the Coast Trail. We stopped here for lunch and hid a
cache. The following day, we hiked up to the summit of Mt. Braden,
another 6 mile hike!
The
cache is a Thermos container hidden between the open area and the
trail in a triangle-shaped hole in the ground, covered with a flat
rock and a little natural debris. There is no need to move any moss
to locate the cache. This is one of those rare spots in this park
where you can actually find a hilltop view of sorts without going
down to the coast.
