Vigala jõgi oli omal ajal üks suuremaid veetõkkeid Tallinn-Pärnu maanteel. Esimesed kirjalikud teated, mis käsitlevad silla ehitamise vajadust, on pärit 1791.aasta jaanuarist, kui Tallinna kubermanguvalitsuse postiameti ülem G. V. Hoffmann kirjutas asehaldusvalitsusele, et juba 1786.aastal on juhitud tähelepanu sellele, et õnnetuste vältimiseks postiga on hädavajalik ehitada Konuvere ja Päärdu jõele sild. Pikkade aastate jooksul arutelude, kirjavahetuse ja asjaajamise rüütelkonna ning ametimeeste vahel viis lõpuks silla ehitamiseni. Konuvere sild üle Vigala jõe valmis 1861. aastal. Aegade jooksul on sillal teostatud erinevas mahus remont- ja taastustöid. Praegune kaunis ilme on taastatud 1909.aasta remondiprojekti alusel. Lisatud on vaateplatvorm ja valgustus. Sild on arhitektuurimälestisena riikliku kaitse all 1998.aastast. Aare on peidetud plastiktopsi ning sisaldab juhendit, logiraamatut, vahetusnänni ja kirjutusvahendit. Vigala River was at the time one of the largest temporary water reserves Tallinn-Pärnu road.
