This cache has been placed not far from Standley Chasm to encourage
cachers to visit the magnificent West MacDonnell Ranges, and to
give the local cachers something to hunt as well.
The Cache is a short walk through hard spikey spinifex from a
parking area, so you will need long trousers, enclosed leather
shoes, and I recommend knee-high gaiters (see my photo). The
terrain 2.5 is more for the spinifex, it would be 1.5 maybe 2
without spinifex.
The cache is NOT inside the fee payable commercial area further
along the road. Note that you can use the facilities up there
without paying, only the visit to the chasm costs money.
I want you to find the cache so I have provided a spoiler, but
it shouldn't be needed. The cache is at the base of a large rock,
protected by a pile of other rocks which should look a little out
of place. They are there more to protect the container from sun and
fire than muggles, and the position is to protect from flood. Any
muggle prepared to brave that spinifex deserves the cache. Please
make sure the rocks are not on the container when you re-hide
it.
The cache is a green painted 750 ml square cliplock. Initial
contents are Hot Wheels '2008 Lancer Evolution', spin top, Swiss
Geopin, Geo armband, Anakin Skywalker Star Wars figurine, starfish,
dinosaur, log book, pen, pencil & sharpener.
When trading items please consider trading up or
trading even and leaving items that you would want to find, and
please don't take the pen, pencil or sharpener. If you can't trade
up or trade even I don't mind seeing TNLNSL in the log. Also please
don't put the pen or pencils in the log book bag, it tends to
destroy the watertight integrity.
Trackables (geocoins and travel bugs) are not tradeable items.
Please feel free to take them without making a trade, but please
leave a note in the logbook and your online log, and do log them
online.
