Geocache Description:

Should be an easy find in an obvious spot.

Due to my advancing age, I (and my doctor) am concerned about the possibility of my experiencing a medical situation while on the road to Maintain one or more of my 120 GC Geocaches and 50 GCA Geocaches.

If you live near this Geocache, or regularly travel near it, you might be interested in Adopting this Geocache (or more of mine). Please let me (WanderingAus) know by Message at
Geocaching Message Center
if you are interested, including the cache code or codes
(e.g GC1XZ3C for this cache).

Due to the temporary nature of pens and pencils in my geocaches
BRING YOUR OWN WRITING IMPLEMENT!!!

This cache has been placed not far from John Hayes Rock Hole camping area to encourage cachers to visit the magnificent East MacDonnell Ranges, and to give the local cachers something to hunt as well.

John Hayes Rock Hole Camping Area is at the end of a 4 Km "High Clearance Vehicles Only" track, but it is well worth the trip in. As a special encouragement to cachers I have placed a virtual GCA cache GA1576 WanAus 125 - John Hayes Campsite here as well as this traditional. That way even if the traditional GC cache goes missing or you fail to find it, you can still claim a find for the virtual.

The Cache is a short walk through the creek bed from a parking area.

I want you to find the cache so I have provided 2 spoilers, but it shouldn't be needed. The cache is at the base of a small bush partway up the rockface, protected by two small rocks which should look a little out of place. They are there more to protect the container from sun and fire than muggles, and the position is to protect from flood. Please make sure the rocks are not on the container when you re-hide it.

The cache is a green painted 250 ml screwtop. Initial contents are Baby Shrek figurine, Tick Tock Man, cow, log book, 2 pencils & a sharpener.

When trading items please consider trading up or trading even and leaving items that you would want to find, and please don't take the pen, pencil or sharpener. If you can't trade up or trade even I don't mind seeing TNLNSL in the log. Also please don't put the pen or pencils in the log book bag, it tends to destroy the watertight integrity.

Trackables (geocoins and travel bugs) are not tradeable items. Please feel free to take them without making a trade, but please leave a note in the logbook and your online log, and do log them online.
