The team valley was former during the last Ice Age. The river
team which now runs through it used to be the path of the River
Wear (After the last Ice Age the course was changed to it's current
discharge point into the north sea) The Team Valley is always
thought of to be the centre of the valley- the Trading Estate
rather than places like the Tyne Valley (Although they are far more
beautiful).

The Team Valley Trading estate was built in the 1930s when the
Government spent a huge £2 million on tying to make this a new
revolutionary Industrial estate. It was complete in 1938 with
a main road running parallel to the 'culverted' River team and 2
minor routes either side connecting the whole of the team valley to
a central building (Which is now owned by a business and has
smaller units for small businesses).
The team valley is rapidly becoming a business park rather than
an industrial trading estate. Although many worldwide brands are
based here and manufacture here there are now far more businesses
using the park for office use.
During the between 1940 and 1990 there was nothing done about
the huge pollution problems in the river team. Everything just
drained into there. Now the River is still polluted but by almost
less than 75% what it used to be at it's peak.
The Cache
It is a Quick Cache 'n' Dash but please take care if walking as
the road is narrow and has sharp bends.
When you find the cache would you
please make sure you dont yank the cache from the hiding place-
this will ensure 'the cradle' is still around the cache when you
retrieve it. And that it doesn't fall back down! Thanks.
This cache is on a country road in a small layby. It is well
Hidden but when you put the cache back would you please make sure
that you put the 'Green Stuff' To the Back (You will see what I
mean when you get there). Look out over the Team Valley- a pretty
good viewpoint across it.
The Cache contains the usual Tricks and goodies. I really enjoy
reading logs- could you please try and post some pics as well as
more than one liner logs! They do get read!
Good Luck and Happy Caching
