While we were evacuated for hurricane Katrina we heard many false
rumors. One of them that really struck us was hearing that this
iconic building had been knocked down by Katrina's ravishing winds.
Everyone was much relieved to find it still existed, although in
bad shape like many other buildings.
This round hotel was always an architectural oddity to me as a
kid. Not being a city kid and never really traveling much I had
never seen a round building other than this one.
This hotel was built in the 1970s and was originally a Sheraton,
later a Howard Johnson and today a Holiday Inn. It is known as one
of the first major landmarks you see when you when drive over the
Crescent City Connection.
This is a small container with a log and a few trade items.
