Hunting around the forest... Traditional Cache
Workyticket: As there appears to have been no response from the CO we are archiving this cache listing to prevent it from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements in the area. Once a cache is archived for non-responsiveness (including the cache page) it can't be unarchived.

A slow, quiet, peaceful, beautiful, silent, garlic smelling, dog runaround, wildlife filled (I could go on forever) wood.
Yes, this one is all about the 'motto' if you like, of geocaching- Using multi-billion pound military class satellite technology to locate wee little plastic boxes in the woods.
Beamish woods are a great place to come to just get away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Newcastle, Gateshead and the A1. A lovely little wood- great place for dogs to just run wild and just take a sniff at the wild garlic in the summer months as you stroll on past watching that all important arrow!
Not to mention the wildlife- just teaming with it! Firstly, we have rabbits and hares- Lots of burrows and jumping rabbits. Then (occasionally) there is the odd Deer or Fox. Rarely seen- but one scared us more than we scared it when placing the cache- just keep an eye...
Relax... When you arrive at the cache, you will just hear the trickling of the water, quietly but yet so fast down the small stream towards Beamish Burn to flow down the industrial capital of Gateshead to become the River Team. So go on then... listen...
I decided to place this cache here after becoming attached to this lovely forest (if that is such a thing) whilst finding 'Steely Dee' The forest has a few main paths running through it and one goes past Steely Dee and then onto this cache.
Parking can be found at a small 'lay-by' on Beamishburn Road. There is other parking at the picnic site, but the gate is locked at sundown.
Happy Hunting!
