This cache was placed for the Picnic in the Pines event on September 19, 2009 and is named for a favorite hobbit and geodog. The cache is less than 0.5 miles up Chamiso Canyon Road south of I-40 on NM 337. Parking is available at the base of the road if you want to hike or you can drive up in fair weather conditions.
