Note: All trails in the Brighton State Recreation Area pass through land open to hunting.
This geocache is located along one of the equestrian trails in the park. The area is multi-use, with hikers, dog walkers, joggers, and hunters (in season) also using the trails. The trails are well defined and marked, but can be a bit uneven and muddy in spots after a rain. This section of the trail is one mile in length and goes between 2 public dirt roads. The cache is hidden approximately half-way along this trail section, so the distance is about the same whether starting from the east or west parking location. We hope the geocache encourages people to hike this one mile section of the trail. The trail is beautiful and worth the extra steps. We don’t know who created the meeting place but it is an inviting place to stop along the trail. The container is a rectangular, clear, Lock & Lock box.
May, 2017 Update: 1) After 8 years of additional horse traffic, the trail is a little more worn, but it is still a nice hike 2) The structure that is there now came after the geocache was placed, and isn't the original 'meeting place'. The cache in NOT attached to the structure
