Geocache Description:

This is a Camouflaged Matchstick Container

This is my very first hide. There are non-stop muggles around this location Monday thru Friday from 8 to 5. It is great for evenings and weekends. However, if you go during those times, the people working inside the building are aware of the cache and will enjoy watching your attempts to be discreet.

Constables were the first law enforcement transplanted to the British colonies in North America in the mid-seventeenth century. The Texas Constable is a member of an Elite corps of Cowboy-Lawmen organized in 1823 by Stephen F. Austin, replacing the Spanish style military policing organization, thereby pre-dating even the Texas Rangers. Over time, the tax collector, then known as the Shire Reef (today’s Sheriff) was given increased administrative duties. Constables assumed the primary responsibility for local law enforcement, thus becoming the “People’s Police.”

Today there are 770 locally elected Texas Constables. Each Constable is commissioned by the Texas Governor and is supported by their loyal group of Deputies.

I am honored and proud to be an Elected Texas Constable. I have put my first cache close to my office so I can keep it maintained.
