The Parent Larch or the Mother of Millions was one of 5 Larch seedlings brought from the Tyrol mountains in central Europe in 1738, and planted by the 2nd Duke of Atholl. The Parent Larches are estimated to have produced over 14 Million offspring. The nearby information board gives you lots more detail.
There is a variety of wildlife to be seen here including a large herd of Fallow Deer which can always be seen in the Grounds of the nearby Hotel.
