Geocache Description:

Taitouzaki lighthouse is a medium size lighthouse of the white wall tower form standing on the tip of taitouzaki which I pushed out in the east from the middle of Chiba Boso Peninsula (a circle).
The outskirts are appointed in Minami Boso Seminational Park, and it is a beauty spot overlooking the Pacific, and it is known because the sunrise is splendid.

太東埼灯台は、千葉県房総半島の中ほどから東に突きだした太東崎の先端に立つ白亜塔形（円形）の中型灯台です。周辺は南房総国定公園に指定されていて、太平洋を望む景勝地であり、日の出がすばらしいことで知られています。
この灯台は、戦後太東村が設置した灯台を前身とし、国に移管されたのを期に1952年（昭和27）5月に設置・初点灯されたものです。その後、波による激しい浸食によって大規模な崖崩れが発生し敷地が危険な状態になったことから、1972年（昭和47）2月に100m後退させて、現在の位置に建て直されました。現在では灯台の高さ（地上から塔頂まで）15.9m、標高（平均海面～灯火）72m、LB-40型灯器を使い、光度25万カンデラ、光達距離は21海里（約39km）です。内部は、一般公開はされていないので、通常は外観を見学するだけです。
