To the east of Polis lies Limni Mines. The site is very old
dating back to Roman times. The modern workings, post-1946,
produced mainly Copper concentrate and iron Pyrites. In 1978
production was halted due to falling copper prices. The jetty from
where the copper ore was shipped out is still in place, although
recently renovated. It's a lovely place from which to watch the
sunset.
