Geocache Description:

I do like an anarchist. It’s strange to think that 90 years ago, Tower Hamlets was seen as not just a hotbed of political discontent, but a threat to democracy itself.

GC was again re-instated 13/1/2010

In a dirty little alley called Angel Alley just to the left of the KFC and near Whitechapel Art Gallery. At the end of the alley is a book shop called the Freedom Book Shop, which stocks a great deal of left wing and anarchist literature reflecting the political history of the area. On the wall of the alley is a mural containing the portraits of prominent anarchists. The most important and well known are Prince Peter Kropotkin and Rudolf Rocker.

Isn't it weird to think that all of these guys pitched up in London, Kropotkin working as a plongeur in The Savoy Hotel.

Rocker was quite a trouble maker and was eventually deported.

Not accessible 24/7
