Did you know that the city of Longview has the honor of being known as a "Tree City USA"? It is an award granted by the National Arbor Day Foundation to cities that place importance on trees. Lake Sacajawea is a good showcase as to why Longview has earned this title.
Did you know there are more than 119 different types of trees at the lake alone? This simple mystery cache will focus on three of them to help guide you along to your geocache.
The starting coords will take you to one of these giants. At the base of many trees are wooden posts that tell you what type of tree it is. Start with the first tree, and work your way to the lake, finding out the types of the next two trees. Using the list below you will be able to crack the code and get the numbers.
Your final coords are:
N 46 08.(first tree)(second tree)(third tree)
W 122 57.(first tree subtract 1)(second tree add 1)(third tree subtract 4)
Tree list:
Pacific Dogwood = 1
American Elm = 2
Hawthorne = 3
Black Walnut = 4
Liberty Elm = 5
Mossy cup Oak = 6
Yoshino Flowing Cherry = 7
Autum Cherry = 8
White Ash = 9
Armstrong Red Maple = 0
Due to strong muggle activity during the day I suggest doing this geocache at night. The park and path to the cache is well lit, and the nearby fountain looks nice at night. If you do this during the day
PLEASE USE EVERY OUNCE OF STEALTH IN YOUR BODY.
Great news, this cache should be able to be gotten while using a wheelchair.
