Geocache Description:

An easy find near a popular overnight camp spot.

Due to my advancing age, I (and my doctor) am concerned about the possibility of my experiencing a medical situation while on the road to Maintain one or more of my 120 GC Geocaches and 50 GCA Geocaches.

If you live near this Geocache, or regularly travel near it, you might be interested in Adopting this Geocache (or more of mine). Please let me (WanderingAus) know by Message at
Geocaching Message Center
if you are interested, including the cache code or codes
(e.g GC1Y6C0 for this cache).

Due to the temporary nature of pens and pencils in my geocaches

Stop, Rest and Revive is a series of caches along the Stuart Highway in the Northern Territory. These caches aim at breaking up the long and often very uneventful journeys throughout the Territory. I hope that you enjoy the caches and that you take the opportunity to Stop, Rest and Revive during your travels.

SRR - Desert Oaks

Desert Oaks Camping Area is beside the Stuart Highway and has room for a couple of dozen caravans, camper trailers, camper vans and tents, and is popular with the grey nomads and other travelers on the Stuart Highway. Read more about Desert Oaks (Allocasuarina decaisneana) at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allocasuarina_decaisneana

Facilities in the camp area as at September 2009 include 2 shelters, 3 picnic tables, a water tank, fireplaces, and a few rubbish bins.

The cache is a 1 Kg Milo tin The cache is a drab camo'd 1 kg plastic fruit container, inside a drab camo'd 1 kg Milo tin with the lid removed. I left the original 1 Kg Milo tin with some large swaps in it. They are hidden together near a large tree across the road from the camping area. Please park on the camping area side and be discrete when heading out on the hunt and returning. You will need a teaspoon, key or coin to pop the lid open if you want to access the large swaps tin. Be sure to close the lid SECURELY when finished and return it laying down and concealed as well as possible. Initial contents are emergency poncho, VW New Beatle car, spin top, Mr Rude, cow, dinosaur, log book, pen, pencil & sharpener.

When trading items please consider trading up or trading even and leaving items that you would want to find, and please don't take the pen, pencil or sharpener. If you can't trade up or trade even I don't mind seeing TNLNSL in the log. Also please don't put the pen or pencils in the log book bag, it tends to destroy the watertight integrity.

Trackables (geocoins and travel bugs) are not tradeable items. Please feel free to take them without making a trade, but please leave a note in the logbook and your online log, and do log them online.

redcenterdazza has kindly offered to be local maintainer for this cache, once he finds it.
