Petits Hiboux is located in St Lawrence
The oldest date stone is 1694 on the front part of the house
above the hay loft door. In 1822 the cottage under went a
refurbishment and a date stone above the door went up.
The present owners bought the derilict property in 2002 and
completed renovated it
This was a major project, and due to the angle of the roof they
knew it must have been thatched at some point, but they had to
convince planning!
Now the property is quite extensive with a beautiful Norman thatch
topped with a lime render - the only thatch in Jersey to be the
correct type.
Take a look around the back of the property and see the dragon
on top of the roof and the inscription in the wall 'Give us the
tools and we'll finish the job - Winston Churchill' which was in
honour of the builder.
