Lions Den Traditional Cache

Park at the entrance of the unlocked/open gated, gravel road just south of Passco rd. Or drive into the power line /cell tower right of way road and park by the towers. Other approaches are also available.
Team Rampant Lion brought me to this impressave rocky site hunting for his "Ominus"cache back in '05. Upon arrival I explored the area from top to bottom before even looking for the container, impressed with its upper walled stone room and lower massive rock overhang area. One of my first impressions was that if there were African lions living in the area this would be a perfect location for a lion's den. It's accessable, yet secluded with the large overhang, and of course it's dry, as its protected from most weather conditions. TRL'S placement was at the top of the site and my ammo can sits at the lower portion, below what appears to be a walled room, as viewed from above. Additionally, there is a great view of the swamp/marsh area if you climb up the boulder near the water's edge. I placed this cache here in honor and thanks to TRL'S years of cache placements and his highly anticipated event "Caching through the snow". Thanks Kevin for all you have done for geocahing and bringing myself and others to places I would otherwise never have visited. I hope things go well in California for you and your family. TQ
