Geocache Description:

A short swim in a beautiful Adirondack setting.......

CONGRATULATIONS TO GEOLOBO AND BLUEGIRL ON FTF!!!!!!!!

Abanakee is a small, beautiful lake in Indian Lake. This is the summer spot for our family - and the favorite part of the Adirondacks for the grandkids. Abanakee has it all - the sounds of Loons in the morning, great fishing for the kids and adults and a nice peaceful place to swim, kayak or canoe without the sounds of the big boats nearby.

Papa (frak) and the oldest minislider were out kayaking and decided they wanted to place a hydrocache. They found the perfect spot to land the kayaks and then went to work. If you plan tocome by water you'll see a small area just before the cache to land and pull your kayak/canoe up.

Once on land - whichever way you decided to come - follow your GPS to the big rock (part of the Town Park). Standing on the rock look straight out....the cache is only 15 feet away. The cache is a nalgene bottle secured to a large rock by line and a carabeaner.

For those new to hydrocaching - bring something that floats to hook onto the beaner so you don't have to search for it to put the cache back - that is tough....we've done it!

Good luck and enjoy the lake while you are here!!
