Little Prairie Burial Ground established 1830

Little Prairie Burial Ground or Wishon Cemetery?

Around 1850 Little Prairie Burial Ground was established and registered, as such, at the Phelps County Court House. Over time the locals began calling it the Wishon Cemetery.

In 1996 the Board of Directors used donations to purchase and install a new Entrance and Gate. They chose to continue using the registered name and approved the Little Prairie Burial Ground name for the Entrance.

Either name is correct.
