Archon Kelly was an Oregon pioneer who took a Donation Land Claim in Pleasant Home. He emmigrated to Oregon in 1848 with his father Clinton and brothers who settled in what is now SE Portland. Kelly Butte was part of the family land claim and Archon's older brother Plympton won the right to name Mt. Tabor in a coin flip with his father who wished to call it Mt. Zion. Visit the link above if you wish to read more about this fascinating family.
Pleasant Home cemetery is located on part of Archon Kelly's Donation Land claim. It is a designated pioneer cemetery and is owned and maintained by Portland Metro Regional Green Spaces.
There are many lovely tombstones in this cemetery, which was dedicated by Archon in 1884. His descendants and other pioneers of Pleasant Home rest in this place.
The cemetery is open from sunrise to sunset. Parking is available and no pets are allowed.
The cache is log only, so bring your own pen.
