Nearing Weyth: R.I.P Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This Cemetery is called Weyth or Gorton-Grey Cemetery. The first burial was for Edwin Gorton. Born in Massachusetts in 1810, he died in Weyth in 1897. He married Amy Ann Cook in 1834. They had three children and she died in South Dakota. He served in the 11th Ohio Voluntary Infantry in the Civil War, as he had enlisted to look after his teenage son who had also joined the army. Edwin Gorton was a pioneer of the Weyth area. His descendants are also buried here. There are 11 graves. Cache is not in the cemetery, and is accessable just a step from the path. The cache is a small round lock-n-lock spray painted black. It holds the log and some other small items. Geocoins and small bugs will fit in nicely. For the FTF I have stocked the container with small outdoor items and a glass blue moth. I have included a spoiler photo of the cache location.
