Geocache Description:

Near a great swimming spot where the Magpiy team has often been seen in summer, also near a community meeting place where the phrase "rollup" comes from.

The Salisbury brothers were the first settlers in Ngatimoti, arriving in 1855. Soon after more farmers came to the area to run sheep and cattle (beef and dairy) and grow crops such as hops and apples. The area was also part of the tobacco boom in the mid 20th Century.

The nearby Motueka River is a popular trout fishing spot.
