Besöker du Birka med en av de många turbåtar som under sommarsäsongen lägger till här, och vill du hinna med en guidad tur, se museet, vikingabyn och kanske äta en bit i restaurangen? Ja då kan det vara svårt att få tiden att räcka till för att också leta upp de cacher som finns här på ön. Men helt logg-lös skall du ändå inte behöva lämna Birka — det är för dig den här burken finns, på lagom kort promenadavstånd från öns sevärdheter.

Ångholmen heter den landtunga som skjuter ut från Björkös nordvästra del. Detta område hade ingen viktigare funktion under Birkas storhetstid av den enkla anledningen att det då låg helt under vatten. I dag, när strandlinjen ligger fem meter lägre, har holmen stigit upp ur Mälaren, och det är här som turbåtarna angör Björkö och Birka. Här finns också en gästhamn, museeum, den framväxande vikingabyn, toaletter, kiosk och restaurang. Platsen sjuder av liv från maj till september då turistsäsongen pågår för fullt för att sedan ligga öde och stilla under resten av året.

Många människor rör sig här under sommarmånaderna, burken ligger därför lite avskilt, men var ändå försiktig om du besöker ön under denna tid så du inte röjer gömman.

Visiting Birka with one of the many tour boats that dock here during the summer season? Want to fit in a guided tour, see the museum, the Viking village, and maybe grab a bite at the restaurant? Then it can be tough to find the time to also search for the caches hidden on the island. But you shouldn't have to leave Birka without logging a find — this cache is here for you, just a short walk away from the island's attractions.

Ångholmen is the name of the spit of land that juts out from the northwestern part of Björkö. This area had no significant function during Birka's heyday simply because it was completely underwater at that time. Today, with the shoreline five meters lower, the islet has risen from Lake Mälaren, and this is where the tour boats dock at Björkö and Birka. Here you'll also find a guest harbor, museum, the emerging Viking village, toilets, a kiosk, and a restaurant. The place is bustling with life from May to September when the tourist season is in full swing, only to become deserted and still for the rest of the year.

Many people move around here during the summer months, so the cache is located a bit off the beaten path. Still, be cautious when visiting the island during this time so you don't reveal the hiding spot.
