Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
The cache is a micro within 6' of the trail; NOT on the ground.
(The orginal nano has been replaced with something larger!) No
bushwacking is required! Please bring your own writing tool, as the
container is too small to host its own! Your GPSr will have a hard
time getting a fix during the heavy foliage season. When you get
near GZ, switch to your geosense!
This cache is near a crossroad, but will be most fun to do from the
trail! Get out your bikes, trikes, boots or roller blades. In the
winter Nordic skis, snowshoes or snowmobile will be just the
ticket. Named in the Anishinabe language for the Bald Eagle, the
Mi-Gi-Zi bike trail in the Chippewa National Forest leads along the
glittering lakes and through towering pine & hardwood forests.
The 18-mile trail winds around Pike Bay & the south east edge
of Cass Lake. My favorite run is from the Norway Beach Visitor's
Center to the campground at the south end of Pike Bay & back
again; plus a pass or two along Norway Beach to the NE end of the
trail. I am particularly enamored with recumbent bikes/trikes. This
series is named after some of the companies represented in my
fleet! In the case of this cache: the Barcroft Virginia Titanium (a
short wheel base recumbent bike). Congratulations to the ever
intrepid team Fargnot on their First To Find! (FTF prize was
wrapped around the container.) Local cachers Wixie, Fargnot &
TheMuts have consented to help maintain this cache.
