An easy pick up in historic Genoa.
According to historian Nancy C. Miluck, one of the worst chapters in the history of Genoa took place in 1897 when a drifter, Adam Uber, accused of murdering a popular teamster, Hans Anderson, was lynched. The lynch party and their heirs suffered tragedies and calamities, as immortalized in the local Historical Society's annual play, "The Curse of the Hanging Tree" .
