This in one of a series of fairly easy caches that are fairly lame. Some are a little tougher than others, some might make you smile, others are ho hum, but none are brain twisters. However, for your caching angst, some evil ones are on the way, but they are not part of the Gratuitous Cache series.
This is a P&G. You are looking for an orange match holder.
While you are here, close your eyes, and let yourself drift back in time and listen carefully. You just might hear the rattle of a locomotive as it brings material up the nearby tracks to supply the McCoy AFB with what it needs to run. On their inter-connected cars are baby strollers for the BX, tires for the motor pool, jet engine parts, house paint and plumbing supplies, and maybe munitions for the bombers stationed here. Screeching brakes, and the sound of cars coming to a halt, alongside the warehouses just a hundred yards north. Sneak a peak and all you'll see is a concrete slab as a reminder.
Whats that? A shout, followed by the stacatto beat of gunfire! Another shout --- "CEASE FIRE --- CHECK YOUR TARGETS"
Sneak another peak and look to the south and you'll see the berms of the old gunnery range, now off limits and posted.
This was an active area, and an important but unglamorus one one in the daily operations on the long gone base.
Even the cache hide played a small role in defending America in days gone by.
The cache hide once was muggled to another area of the old base and used in driver training but was located and returned to serve geocachers in it's new role.
