Geocaching, a global game of treasure hunting using longitude and
latitude coordinates, is a fun filled adventure for all ages. With
a GPS receiver, and internet access, you are ready to explore and
search for a "geocache". This session will instruct the basics
needed to enjoy this eco-friendly sport including suggested
equipment, the website, how to search for a cache and types of
caches. You will enjoy the thrill of the hunt but the real
discovery is the countless locations of natural beauty and
historical interest you will find that you never knew existed.
Families are encouraged to participate. Please dress for the
weather.
We will start with a presentation explaining Geocaching then
head out to put your new skills to practice. Mister Greenthumb has
hidden 6 temp caches in the immediate area to give you the
opportunity to experience different types of hides. The temp caches
will be loggable on this event page. If you have a GPS unit, please
bring it (not required).
