In 1988 when I was 9 years old a little movie came out called Field of Dreams staring Kevin Costner. At the time I was an avid baseball card collector, player and VERY close to my Dad. I traveled with him on a business trip one time and we went to go and see this movie together at the theater. I would have to say it was one of the most memorable experiences I had with my father. We both cried during this movie...it has special meaning to me after my father's unexpected passing in 2000 at the age of 49 from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
To this day Field of Dreams has been my favorite movie of ALL TIME. I pop it in on occasion and it brings back so many good memories. If you have not yet seen this movie then HERE IS YOUR CHANCE! I highly recommend it!
Last summer I even visited Dyersville, Iowa (The site where the movie was filmed) with my then 2 year old son which was very special. I have dedicated this cache to my father and to one of my favorite characters from the movie "Moonlight" Graham. The compassion and selflessness of this character reminds me very much of my Dad. Wish we had more people like this in our world.I'm sure we do, we just don't hear about them. When you see someone in your life that brightens the world around them Moonlight, tell them so!
