Just off the the newly altered # 4 highway. Turn in Strathgiass Rd then turn right. New coords, please let me know if they are off.
This is reputedly the name origin.
James Mappel settled here about 1815. His neighbors advised him to leave the marshy place because frost hurt his crops, but he always replied "I hope it will improve". Whereupon his neighbors remarked his hope was a marshy hope.
