Geocache Description:

The cache IS at the posted coordinates. October 8, 2020 edit: Although logging multiple finds on the same cache hasn't been possible for years, I've decided to keep the old language. Historical value and all that...

Geocaching events are a great way to connect with other cachers, gain new insights about the game, and see and swap amazing geocoins and trackable items. Completing this challenge cache will bring you to lots of events--or maybe you have already "paid it forward" and done plenty of geomixin' and minglin'.

Anyone, eventually, can log this cache up to three times. If you have, say, 17 events , your first stop will be the 28 level. Why 28? Er, um, the word EVENT can be encoded as a phone number, the digits of which add up to 28. Attend 28 events and you can log this cache, once you go to the physical cache location and sign the log there.

Second time around. The word EVENT can also be encoded by mapping A-through-Z to 1-through-26, and the resulting sum is 66. When you bag 66 event caches, you can log this cache twice. (If you're going to log it more than once, no need to revisit the physical cache--but it's a good excuse to cache in Davis!)

100 Events--are you serious? Well, we squeezed 28 and 66 out of the word EVENT. For this third level, let's just make a nice round 100. If you have been to 100 geocaching events, hats off to you! It's probably time for a new kilt.

The physical cache. If this cache were a traditional, it might be called, "End of Faraday Avenue." Use stealth. A clipboard could be good here. Hey, maybe I'll donate one to the raffle at the next __ __ __ __ __!

Now for a few words from the Promotion of Clarity Department:

You must find 28 event caches to complete this challenge.
CITOs, Mega Events, GPS Adventures, Lost and Found events, Groundspeak Lost and Found Celebrations, and other cache types do not count for this challenge. We're going for that little cloud bubble that doesn't say "MEGA" in it.
Past finds DO qualify. Past history is on your side for this one.
You may log this cache twice if your event cache total is 66 or higher; you may log it a third time if your event cache total reaches triple digits. You do not need to revisit the physical cache for each time you log it. (But you are welcome to!)
The date of each "found it" log is the date you qualified for that level or the date you signed the log, whichever is later.
In your "found it" log, indicate how many qualifying caches you have.
There are three unique FTFs for this cache, for the first finders at each level. If the FTF is still available and you now qualify for a higher level, you will need to post a find it note claiming another find at the next level. The higher-level FTFs go to the first cacher who qualifies and logs their finds; if you qualify for a higher level and don't relog the cache, you won't get the FTF.
You must sign the log of the physical cache; you may sign the log before completing the challenge.

Have fun, you social butterfly!

Congrats to two bison for the FTF at the 28 level! Congrats to retiredprof for the FTF at the 66 level! Congrats to sailorscodgers for the FTF at the 100 level!
