This cache is placed along the Little Sandy River Trail, a trail for hiking, biking and horseback riding along the Little Sandy River in Carter County Ky. The trail which is more a road than trail, was made from the old EK Railroad tracks and is also used by motor vehicles as a thru road. The Old Tyme Machinery grounds are located along this road which crosses under KY 7. The Old Tyme Machinery Show is held here each September, where you can see antique machinery in use as it was in times past, along with a host of other activities, crafts and food. There is a nice stage on the grounds where gospel sings and bluegrass fests are held. The grounds have even been used for youth soccer.
The cache is a camouflaged large pill bottle, containing a log book and a couple small trade items. There is a special prize for the FTF. BYOP.
You will find the cache along the trail, not too far off the road. The road though graveled is very wide and flat, there is plenty of room to park and turn around. If you are a bit more adventurous, you can continue on the road which crosses over 3 old railroad bridges that have planks down on the bed for motor traffic. They are a little scary, for there are no guard rails, and are very narrow.
