My brother Dave, some friends, and I used to go on non-commercial river trips a couple of times every year in our own inflatable catarafts.
One of the friends typically ended the trips with more straps, carabiners, ammo cans, and other items than he started with while my brother ended up with fewer. To stem the loss, my brother started marking everything with a particular type of tape. It became so ubiquitous on his gear that we named it, "Dave Tape".
The cache used to be a decon container covered in Dave Tape. That went missing and has been replaced by a standard plastic jar, still covered in Dave Tape.. When you approach the hide, you'll likely curse me for placing a rock hide. Not to worry; the cache is not in the rocks; it's under a geopile at the top of the rocks. It is, however, in full view of the trail, so please use discretion when retrieving and replacing the cache and please re-hide well.
