You're hunting an ammo can hidden along the Pine Ridge Nature Preserve and Trail at Bok Tower Gardens, a National Historic Landmark.
The Pine Ridge Nature Preserve and Trail is a Longleaf Pine-Turkey Oak habitat. Similar pine communities once covered millions of acres in the southeastern United States. Now in danger of disappearing, a small portion has been preserved in the Pine Ridge Nature Preserve. This habitat is an upland ecosystem typified by an overstory of Longleaf Pine and a dense groundcover of Perennial grasses. Visitors can experience this natural habitat on a 3/4-mile trail that begins at Window by the Pond and terminates at the parking lot. Many shaded benches along the way serve as places for relaxation and reflection. Along the trail you will see a bog garden, an open glade and a sandhill forest community that is one of the most endangered ecosystems in the world.
Atop Iron Mountain, one of the highest points in peninsular Florida, this National Historic Landmark will open its grounds to Trek Ten Trails participants and all geocachers for a Bok Bonus Trek.
Voted Florida’s best garden, Bok Tower Gardens is a National Historic Landmark in Central Florida’s rolling hills of citrus. Open every day of the year from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with last admission at 5 p.m. Admission is $14 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12, children under 5 are admitted free.
