Gedenkstein für Darius Ekbatani
Wegen Zivilcourage getötet
Am 1. Todestag von Darius Ekbatani wurde am 12. Juni 2008 durch Bürgermeisterin Marlies Wanjura (CDU) ein Gedenkstein enthüllt. Ekbatani wurde nur 23 Jahre alt. Er war an der Badestelle "Im Saatwinkel" durch einen Messerstich getötet worden, als er einem 43-jährigen Mann zu Hilfe kam. Dieser hatte vier Jugendliche aufgefordert, ihren Müll wegzuräumen, worauf sie auf den Mann einschlugen. Ekbatani ging dazwischen, ein Jugendlicher stach ihn in den Rücken. Der 17-jährige Täter wurde zu acht Jahren Jugendstrafe verurteilt. Wanjura: "Darius hat seine Zivilcourage mit seinem Leben bezahlt." So etwas dürfe nie wieder in Reinickendorf passieren.

In the 1st day of death of Darius Ekbatani a stone tablet was revealed on the 12th of June, 2008 by mayoress Marlie Wanjura (CDU). Ekbatani was only 23 years old. He had been killed at the bath place "in the sowing corner" by a stab when he came to assistance to a 43-year-old man. This had asked four youngsters to remove her garbage on which they hit on the man. Ekbatani went in between, a youngster stung him in the back. The 17-year-old culprit was condemned to eight years of youth punishment. Wanjura: "Darius has paid his courage of the convictions with his life." Such a thing may never again happen in Reinickendorf.
