This cache has been archived.

vincent1960: I have decided to archive this whole series as extensive works are being carried out and many of the cache areas have been destroyed. I hope to set another series when the work is finished.

Geocache Description:

This is a regular cache placed at a scenic walk along the River Rhondda.

The cache is called The Red Road, as the road was originally made from red ash, and although it has mostly been resurfaced, all the local people know this as the Red Road. This is a scenic walk which is well used by dog walkers and children. The path is a good level path, although it is a little muddy in a few places. The land you are walking through is all reclaimed land and if you enjoy blackberries, take a container as this is your ideal walk.

The cache is a medium sized clip lock box containing all the usual stuff and a small FTF prize.

If parking at the co-ordinates given take care as this quiet sidestreet is very popular with small children.

If you enjoy a long walk, you could walk further down the river and do our Memorial Walk 2 cache with is down the river between Ferndale and Tylorstown.
