Ammo can located along Deep Creek in the Pillsbury Wildlife Area.
We placed this cache by canoe. I do not know how the over land routes would be. If you go over land make sure to stay off of Private Property. The Paddle took us about 1.5 hours, round trip, and was approximately 2 miles.
The creek is a class I float, flat water and is good for beginners. It can get swift and fast moving after rains, so plan your trip accordingly. Not many obstacles (strainers), but that can change as well. Trees can fall and create a strainer. The water is usually flat and slow enough to paddle around anything in the way. The creek can be shallow at times so anything other than a canoe/kayak is not reccommended.
This is a nice float that we have done several times and really enjoy it. Not much wind due to protecting bluffs, and after a few bends everyone else is left behind and you get peace and quiet. We have seen lots of different critters on our floats and I am sure we will see more. A fellow paddler told us he saw a wildcat here on one of his floats, hence the cache name.
Good luck and Happy Caching!
