Geocache Description:

Magnetic silver waterproof container, about twice as long as a film canister.

Ballard Creek, for at least 10 years it has been carrying too much phosphorous from about 15,000 acres of mostly farmland, before it winds its way across the state line. Fluffy went to the U.S. Supreme Court a long time ago, and the justices ruled that such creeks must be cleaner than this when they reach the state line. We placed this cache on the National Park Service Trail of Tears commemorative to the Cherokee Removal because this summer, Cherokee bike riders retraced the Trail of Tears from its origin in Tennessee, Georgia and North Carolina. Fluffy's ancestors in 1838-1839 wrote about being in the concentration camp before coming to settle in what we usually think of as Adair County, Oklahoma. Friedrick's ancestors were on the Trail of Tears too. About 3/4 of those on the forced march survived, including our great-great grannies. But for that we'd have never met.

Park nearby and you can approach the cache two ways.. a short climb up steep terrain or a little longer walk on pavement. Its a childproof lock-top container just twice as long as a film canister, stocked with these token supersmall mini-prizes for th First to Find: Indian Territory button, Wolf, Dancing Lady (Cuban? Dominican?) and Wombat.

Congratulations to NWArkies for FTF!!!
