Geocache Description:

One of the great things about Geocaching is the large variety of types of hides out there. There is usually something for everyone. Most people like some types better than others.

A very popular type of hide is the MIST. There is a large following of people that like that type and some not quite as much. One of my favourite hides is the RIST. I felt it would be fun to get one hidden for CARS09, so here it is. In order to fit into a category, I've made it an orange RIST. It should be easy to spot day or night.

Park just off the road at the top of the hill near a locked gate.  Please do not block access to the gate.  Walk down the hill, following the road allowance to get to the cache.  Note that when the ground is not frozen, the path down to the cache has water on it and wading shoes are a good idea. Also note that this is a terrain rated 4 cache. That level of terrain is not everyone's cup of tea. If it is not yours, please do not attempt it.

I had not realized that all the other caches in this area have been archived. There used to be quite a few down here and I thought it best to quote RedRouge from his advice in the first cache placed here, "Sticks 'n Stones", GCNMGA.

"Just to clear up any confusion, there is a road allowance along the power lines that allows access from the main road to the Elbow River. As you walk down the road allowance there is private property on each side that is well marked and fenced. The locals have used this road/path for years for walking/fishing etc..."

Enjoy!!!
