A Treemendous Goal Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Team Smokey: We stopped by today to take a look at this one. Sure enough, it was still there in it's hiding spot but we are just having some issues in maintaining some of our caches right now, so we had to remove it.

Thank you to all who have come searching for this one and a special shout out to those who have helped in maintaining it over the years.

Geocache Description:

Doherty Park is a 65-acre scenic park that was transformed from an old gravel mine. Walking the mile-long well marked nature trail will bring you through a range of different ecosystems including old fields, ecotones, new forests, streams and ponds.

This cache is placed on the mile long blue blazed nature trail loop just on the outskirts of the soccer fields. The trail loop starts/ends right near the entrance to the park (kiosk is on the left). Parking is available between the entrance and exit roads. We hope you enjoy the hike! Dogs are allowed on the trail if they are kept on a leash and if you clean up after them. Hunting is NOT allowed in the park, so this SHOULD be safe during hunting season. You should, of course, take appropriate caution just in case, as hunting used to be allowed here. The park is open from dawn to dusk. This cache has been placed with permission of the Town of Beekman Recreation Director.
