This is a quick park and cache at a park in ‘downtown’ Salt Point. Cache is a micro hidden in the park. BYOP.
Welcome to Salt Point! Some say this area got its name because this was the POINT where the farmers fed their cows SALT, and then let them drink from the Wappingers Creek to ‘fatten up’ for market in Poughkeepsie. Another story says this is where you could get a salty pint of brew. Regardless of the story, this is one of the more rural parts of the Town of Pleasant Valley.
If you’re in a rush, enter from Salt Point Tpke, just north of Hibernia Road. If you have a bit more time, you can enter from Hibernia Road. Park is often empty, but if there’s a ball game in progress, forget about this one. BYOP.
