Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS UNAVAILABLE AT THE MOMENT, THE BOX IS DIGGED. I WILL REPLACE IT SOON! The cache can be found on the small hill of the Abbey in Szeged-Szoreg. You are advised to get around the fence from the left side of the ruins. Go along a path where you can log undisturbedly and have a wonderful view of the rose fields of Szoreg, the floodplain woods of the River Maros, the small village of Deszk and the former Torontál landscape.

We placed this cache to celebrate our 100th cache. We chose this interesting monument which can be found in an isolated place. The ruins that you can see today are the remains of the nothern wall of the church which was built in the 13th century and first mentioned in 1333.
The additionally built parts represent a church built in Roman style in the 11th century together with a Gothic style extension from the 13th century. The main walls were excavated in 1977.

Our jubilee cache can be found in Apátság street at the farther end of Szoreg in the direction of Makó.
