Geocache Description:

This is 1 of 12 in a new series of caches in this area called “AAC Cache to Eagle” which highlight Eagle Service Projects by the Boy Scouts of the Alapaha Area Council.

Each of these 12 caches will contain one randomly selected Point of the Scout Law. When you have completed all 12 caches, you need to identify which word is associated with each cache number. The first 12 cachers who find and log all 12 should email the cache owner with each Point of the Scout Law correctly identified with each cache number to receive a free BSA 100th Anniversary Geocoin. After the first 12 geocoins have been given away, we will have a random drawing for 12 consecutive months giving away one coin a month for those completing the series not receiving one of the first 12.

The Photo highlights the Eagle Project site and may or may not include the location of the actual cache, although it will be nearby.

This cache location highlights three different Eagle Projects at the Lowndes County Historical Society & Museum. The first project was the construction of permanent picnic tables and benches from Andrew Smith with Troop 415. The second project was the interior renovation of the Red Caboose, completed by Jon Bennet with Troop 440. The Third project highlighted at this location is the creation of the foundation of the Sugar Cane Grinding exhibit by Wade with Troop 415.

The cache is located within the fenced area directly behind the museum and should only be accessed during normal museum hours since the gate may be locked after hours. The museum hours are Monday – Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 10 until 2. This cache has been placed with the permission of the Lowndes County Historical Society & Museum. While you are there please stop in and browse around. Admission is free but they do appreciate donations.

Make sure you grab the nearby challenge, Gypsy the Elephant, while you're near gz.

The cache is not located on, in, or under the caboose. Please be mindful that the caboose is a museum exhibit and treat it as such.

Congrats to gatorpoint and ccapm on their co-FTF!!
