Geocache Description:

One of the best places in the world to see the stunning, speedy Regent Parrot.

An easy-to-find cache along the river; that bush is called Nitre Goosefoot.

Take some time to enjoy the surroundings. If you're here in early spring keep your eyes on the River Red Gum trees for noisy, bright yellow Regent Parrots. You might just hear a swoosh as a mob zooms overhead, travelling from their nesting sites along the river to their feeding grounds in the mallee. They're a beautiful bird, quite rare and threatened in Australia.

Hidden by Nangiloc / Colignan and District Primary School as part of Biodiversity month (Sept 2009). Supported by Kulkyne Way Junior Landcare Group.

The cache is full of swap cards and info on Regent Parrots. We hope you enjoy the cache and find out some more about our ace mallee creatures.
