Albany has an abundance of great walk trails and this is the second in a series of three caches that will take you to a location on the side of one of Albany’s three Mounts. All of these locations have a seat close to the cache, so take a seat, take some time out and enjoy the views. See our beautiful town and coastal vistas from a different perspective.
Take a stroll along the Mount Melville Circuit Trail from the lower car park by the Water Tank and enjoy the views across the Albany town centre back to Mount Clarence. Gaze over the port and harbour and out to the Islands as you head back up the hill towards Albany’s communication tower, or the Spark Plug as it is locally known. Cast your eyes over Princess Royal Harbour to the wind turbines at the Sand Patch. The rock area with the stone seat is a popular spot for locals to gather and watch the New Years Eve and other fireworks displays from the foreshore.
Be aware parts of the trail over the granite may be slippery in winter time. Take the time to do the circuit and the trail will take you to the Spark Plug where 360-degree views over Albany await you. If you are a visitor to our beautiful city, another cache awaits not far from the tower.
There is no need for any bush bashing. The Rainbow Coasters hope you enjoy a different view of this wonderful part of our world and enjoy Albany’s amazing views and learn more about the fantastic walk trails around Albany.
Enjoy, we do!!!
