You know that supposedly easy cache that you cannot find? The one that first-timers walk right up to, but is driving you crazy? "Maybe if you stuck a flag in it," you think. "Maybe if you drew an arrow pointing to the cache, then I might be able to find it."
Well . . .
I have often admired the view as I passed this way. At the end of a short walk is a generously-sized plastic container, a little bigger than a gallon.
The cache is near a wide, paved trail. Some bushwhacking is involved.
The nearest parking is off the side of a paved road just outside the park. This is not a good option in winter.
If you are willing to walk along the road part of the way, you could park at the ranger station. For off-street parking and a paved trail almost all the way to the geocache, park at the trail center/naturalist office. This is the longest walk of the three options. You will need a Minnesota State Park vehicle permit to park at the ranger station or trail center.
Park hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
