Geocache Description:

A cache at the scenic and historic Pukekiwiriki Pa

The cache is a 2.3 litre container in a home-made camo bag.

Please ensure the cache is well hidden (with twigs, leaves, etc) when you're finished!

Pukekiwiriki Pa isn't a particularly famous historic reserve, but actually it's one of Papakura's most significant sites. It has a long history for local iwi and hapu, with a number of archaeological features including trenches, pits and terraces which are well documented by the New Zealand Archaeological Association. There's also an extraordinary rock formation on the cliff face closest to the reserve entrance. Not to mention a great view at the top of the hill!

This cache was formerly the final waypoint for Pukekiwiriki Quizzlestick (GC1KCXF).
